The American Chemical Society, Fuel Division Symposium on Chemistry of Carbon Materials and Nanomaterials , to be be held in Atlanta,. The symposium features research on the synthesis, properties, and applications of carbon materials and their novel nanoforms. Emphasis is on the common chemistry that underlies carbon science for both new and traditional materials. Topics include, but are not limited to: 1) Molecular Engineering in Carbon Material Synthesis; 2) Carbon-Based Catalysts and Sorbents; 3) Novel Carbon Forms and Their Application Fields ; 4) Carbon Nanoparticles and Their Derivatives; 5) Premium Carbon Products from Coal; 6) Carbon Composites and Nanocomposites; 7) Activated Carbon for Environment Applications; 8) Surface Chemistry and Functionalization On-line Preprints are due by November 15, 2005. 33rd International Conference on Metallurgical Coatings and Thin Films, will be held at the Town and Country Hotel in San Diego, Ca.
