Please send Meeting and Conference announcements to Professor Peter A. Thrower, Editor-in-Chief, CARBON
Email: p.thrower@virgin.net

20-23 February 2007

Second International Conference on Recent Advances in Composite Materials, will be held in New Delhi, India. The meeting will attempt to discuss all the critical aspects of metal-matrix composites, fibre composites, and ceramic composites. For further information contact Dr. V.K. Srivastava (E-mail: vijays_sa@yahoo.com) or visit the website at http://www.blhu.ac.in/notification/icracm.htp

15 - 20 July 2007

Carbon 2007, an International Conference on Carbon, to be held at the Seattle Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Seattle, Washington State. The conference will be hosted by the American Carbon Society. For preliminary details visit the conference web site at: http://www.carbon2007.org or contact Tim Burchell at: burchelltd@ornl.gov

15 - 21 July 2007

International Conference on Composites/Nano Engineering to be held in Hong Kong, China. Further information can be found at http://myweb.polyu.edu.hk/~mmktlau/ICCE/ICCE_Main.htm

16 - 20 July 2007

13th International Symposium on Relations between Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Catalysis to be held in Berkeley, California. The aim of this international symposium is to bring together practitioners in the three fields of catalysis, heterogeneous, homogeneous and enzyme, that utilize mostly nanosize particles. For more information about the symposium, please look at the web site at: http://www.lbl.gov/Conferences/ISHHC/XIII/. Please pre-register for the conference if you would like to receive further notification.

2 - 6 September 2007

2nd International Conference on Carbon for Energy Storage and Environment (CESEP 07) Protection to be in Krakow (Poland). The conference will be organized by the Polish Carbon Society under the auspice of JM Rector of AGH University of Science and Technology, Prof. Antoni Tajdus. The Conference will be devoted to synthesis, functionalisation and application of new types of carbon and graphite forms like fullerenes, carbon nanotubes, nanofibers and composites. Such materials have already found many applications in environment protection, power industry, electronics and medicine, e.g., as adsorbents, new sources of energy, (batteries, fuel cells), gas storage, hydrogen storage, heat storage and implants. The conference emphasis is not only on basic research but also on new areas of applications. For further details see http://www.ceramika.agh.edu.pl/cesep07/

4 - 7 September 2007

6th International Conference on High Temperature Ceramic Matrix Composites (HTCMC 6) to be held in New Delhi, India. Full details available at: http://www.htcmc6.org. Contact: Prof. L.M.Manocha, Chairman HTCMC6, Department of Materials Science, Sardar Patel University , Vallabh Vidyanagar - 388120 India; htcmc6@gmail.com

9 - 14 September 2007

Diamond 2007 to be held in Berlin, Germany. Contributions are invited on the following topics.: Growth and processing technologies, Characterisation, Electronic and optoelectronic properties, applications and devices, Mechanical and thermal properties and applications, Electrochemistry and biological activity, Carbon nanotubes, Diamond-like carbon, III-Nitrides. Full details at http://www.diamond-conference.elsevier.com.

23-25 October 2007

Global Outlook for Carbon Fibre 2007 to be held at the Hilton San Diego Resort, San Diego, CA, USA. The meeting will provide an opportunity for leading end-users, fiber suppliers, resin suppliers, molders, parts fabricators, OEMs, investors, researchers, executives, and distributors of carbon fiber materials to break new ground in the discussion of such urgent subjects as: the short rate of supply versus the increasing demand; limited supply and high cost for non-aviation applications; expanding number of consumer applications; and the obstacles to increasing the global marketplace for carbon fiber technology. This conference will address current carbon fiber issues, while helping attendees anticipate future obstacles and opportunities. Participants will receive an updated market overview and hear expert analysis on strategically improving or establishing their company's position in the continually evolving carbon fiber market - With more than 20 presentations (confirmed presentations from Hexcel, Boeing, ORNL, Advanced Composites Group, Fiberforge, and more), 2 half-day seminars that will focus on carbon fiber recycling and disposal and the global market outlook for supply and demand, 10 networking events, up to 20 exhibitors, and an interactive panel, this important technical conference will be the leading information-sharing event for the carbon fiber industry in 2007.
