Mrozowski and Walker Awards

The Mrozowski Award is presented for the best oral presentation by a student. The Walker Award is presented for the best poster presentation by a student. The awards consist of a check for $250.00 and a plaque. The awards are named after two pioneers of carbon science at academic institutions in the United States, Stanislaw W. Mrozowski and Philip L. Walker Jr. A student assistance fund exists to defray, in part, the travel expenses of competitors for these awards, with a maximum available of $200.00 per student and $400.00 per academic advisor.
Button The Brian Kelly Award

In the form of a travel grant, it is open to all carbon researchers from outside the United States under the age of 35 who will present their research results at the conference. Selection by an international review panel will be made on the basis of the extended abstracts submitted by the applicants to the conference, accompanied by a letter of support from an advisor or senior colleague. Self nominations without a letter of support will also be considered. Applicants should state their wish to participate in the award selection when they submit their abstracts. Only one abstract per applicant can be considered. Applicants must be prepared to present their papers as the Brian Kelly Award lecture. If more than one award is made, the awardee for the highest ranked paper will present the lecture. Nominations should be sent to Dr. A.J. Wickham by both e-mail and regular postage. Please copy, Prof. John Patrick, john.patrick@nottingham.ac.uk; Prof. Brian McEnaney, brian.mcenaney@bath.ac.uk; and Dr. Malcolm Heggie, m.i.heggie@sussex.ac.uk.
