Your Input is Valuble! The best vehicle for our communication (and discussion!) is CARBON-L@LISTS.PSU.EDU. It is a listserv mailing list created and coordinated by Julius Jortner (on behalf of the Society). As of this writing, more than 120 carbon enthusiasts around the world have signed up. To subscribe, send an e-mail to listserv@lists.psu.edu with a one-line message "SUBSCRIBE CARBON-L YourFirstName YourLastName" (please use capitalization as indicated and do omit the quotation marks). All subscribers with valid e-mail addresses will receive each message that you send. Questions submitted reach a knowledgeable audience and any answers or discussion is open to comment. |
The newsgroup sci.materials is also an excellent forum for raising questions and often obtaining quick and useful answers. It can be accessed using any newsgroup reader software such as InterNews. For easier identification of relevant postings, please use the word CARBON in the subject of your posted notes. Publishing a letter in CarbonNews is another way to get your views known. Sending an e-mail message to the members of the Executive Committee or to other society members, with your comments, suggestions or initiatives, is yet another way to become and stay active. |
